Join a Group to Learn More About Antique Racing Cars

Antique racing cars are fascinating to many car enthusiasts. If you are interested in this subject, there are various ways to learn more about it. One of the best ways to learn about these old automobiles is to join a group for enthusiasts. One example of such a group would be the New England Antique Racers which has around 400 members and serves the New England area. There is most likely an antique race car club or group in your local area as well. These groups have meetings and events throughout the year and often have a get together where members can bring their cars.

If the group is large enough, the event may be a community-wide event that showcases the cars and offers refreshments and souvenirs. I know that where I live there is an antique car show that takes place every year that is quite large. Sometimes people travel for long distances to attend events. If you are serious about antique cars built for racing, you may want to join a national group. While the Antique Automobile Club of America is not especially for race cars it is a good organization for anyone to join who is interested in classic cars.

You might also want to join an online group especially for antique race car owners and enthusiasts. Even if you don't own one of these cars yet participating in an online group can be a great way to find out more information about them. The more you learn about these cars the more you will know if they are something that you really are interested in. You might also be able to find cars for sale by owner when you join online groups. At the least you will get to meet other people who share your interests for old racing vehicles.

Antique racing cars come in many different makes and models. You may be interested in a particular type of car from a particular era, or your interest may be more broad in nature. Another thing you may want to do is get some books on this subject. There are quite a few on the market that are very informative and chock full of color photographs. One great title to get you started is Vintage American Road Racing Cars by Harold Pace.
